-The agreement between the opposition to establish peace in Kenya Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid al-Makhdum, the ruler of Dubai, declared his son Sheikh Hamdan as Shahjada in his successor. For the first time in the history of Pakistan, the Sikh Marriage Act Ordinance came into force.

1509 – भारत में दीव (गोआ, दमन और दीव) के पास पुर्तग़ाल व तुर्की के बीच युद्ध हुआ।
1556 – चीन के शैन्सी प्रांत में आये विनाशकारी भूकंप में करीब आठ लाख तीस हजार लोगों की मौत हुई।
1626 – चार्ल्स प्रथम इंग्लैंड के सम्राट बने।
1788 – देश में प्रशासनिक सुधारों के लिये पिट्स नियामक अधिनियम को लागू किया गया।

2002 – अमेरिकी पत्रकार डेनियल पर्ल के अपहरण काण्ड में पाकिस्तान के तीन व्यक्ति गिरफ़्तार।
2004 – स्विस टेनिस प्लेयर रोजर फ़ेडरर 237 हफ्तों तक लगातार पहली रैकिंग पर रहे। यह एक रिकार्ड है।
2007 – अंतर्राष्ट्रीय पैनल (आईपीसीसी) ने ग्लोबल वार्मिंग पर रिपोर्ट प्रस्तुत की।
2008 –
-राष्ट्रपति प्रतिभा पाटिल ने कर्नाटक की पहली लक्जरी ट्रेन ‘गोल्डन चैरियट’ को हरी झंडी दिखाकर रवाना किया। राज्यपाल बी. एल. जोशी ने बी. के. गुप्ता को उत्तराखण्ड उच्च न्यायालय के मुख्य न्यायधीश की शपथ दिलाई।
-केन्या में शान्ति स्थापित करने के लिए विपक्ष के बीच समझौता सम्पन्न। दुबई के शासक शेख़ मुहम्मद बिन राशिद अल मखदूम ने अपने पुत्र शेख़ हमदान को अपने उत्तराधिकारी के रूप में शाहज़ादा घोषित किया। पाकिस्तान के इतिहास में पहली बार सिक्ख विवाह अधिनियम अध्यादेश लागू हुआ।
