1503 – पुर्तग़ाली तथा उस्मानों (उस्मानी साम्राज्य (1299 – 1923) (या ऑटोमन साम्राज्य या तुर्क साम्राज्य) के बीच दीव की लड़ाई भारत के दीव (अब एक केन्द्र शासित प्रदेश) में हुई।
1760 – सदाशिव राव भाऊ के नेतृत्व में मराठा सेना ने उदगीर के युद्ध में निजाम को बुरी तरह हराया।
1815 – विश्व में पनीर उत्पादन का पहला कारखाना स्विटजरलैंड मेें खोला गया।
1916 – बनारस हिन्दू विश्वविद्यालय की शुरुआत।
1925 – भारत की पहली बिजली संचालित ट्रेन सेवा मुम्बई से कुर्ला के बीच शुरू।
1934 – पहली बार हवाई जहाजों से पार्सल भेजने का सिलसिला शुरू हुआ। इसे शुरू करने वाले कंपनी को आज लुफ्थांसा के नाम से जाना जाता है।
1942 – जावा पर पहला जापानी हवाई हमला हुआ।

2003 – भारत ने उज़बेकिस्तान के साथ आतंकवाद के ख़िलाफ़ एक संयुक्त कार्यदल का गठन किया।
2005 – भारतीय मूल के पहले सांसद दलीप सिंह सौंद को सम्मानित करने के लिए अमेरिकी प्रतिनिधी सभा में लाये गये विधेयक को आम राय से मंजूरी मिली।
2006 – मिस्र का जहाज़ अल सलाम-98 लाल सागर में डूबा।
2007 –
-चीन ने मल्टीपरपज नेविगेशन सैटेलाइट को अंतरिक्ष की कक्षा में स्थापित किया।
-इराक की राजधानी बगदाद के एक बाज़ार में हुए बम विस्फोट में 135 लोगों की मौत।
2008 –
-कवि गुरु रविन्द्र नाथ टैगोर के चोरी हुए नोबल पुरस्कार बांग्लादेश में होने के संकेत मिले।
-ईरान के तटीय क्षेत्रों में भारतीय कंपनी की 11 खरब क्यूबिक फीट गैस का भंडार मिला।
2009 – ग्रामीण विकास मंत्रालय ने ग़रीबी उन्मूलन हेतु नया फार्मूला बनाया। शिल्पा शेट्टी ने राजस्थान रायल्स की हिस्सेदारी ख़रीदी। गेल इंडिया लिमिटेड एवं इफ्को ने प्राकृतिक गैस के क्षेत्र से सम्बन्धित एक समझौते पर हस्ताक्षर किया।
