-2962 वें वन डे में बनाए गए पहला दोहरा शतक बनाने वाले सचिन की बदौलत भारत ने दक्षिण अफ्रिका से ग्वालियर के कैप्टन रूपसिंह स्टेडियम में खेला गया एकदिवसीय मैच 153 रनों से जीत लिया। 402 रनों के लक्ष्य के जबाब में दक्षिण अफ्रीका की पूरी टीम 43वें ओवर में 248 रन बनाकर आउट हो गई। इसके साथ ही भारत ने तीन मैचों की शृंखला में 2-0 की अजेय बढ़त हासिल कर ली।
