1. India and Bangladesh signed Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for operationalization of Coastal Shipping Agreement. It will facilitate trade and transportation of goods between the two neighbours through inland and coastal waters.
भारत और बंगलादेश ने तटीय पोत परिवहन समझौते के संचालन के लिए मानक कार्य-प्रक्रिया (एसओपी) पर हस्ताक्षर किये। इससे दोनों देशों के बीच अंतर्देशीय और तटीय जल क्षेत्र से होकर वस्तुओं के कारोबार और आवाजाही में सहूलियत होगी।
2. India and Australia announced completion of procedures for bringing the two-nation nuclear deal into force. The deal was signed at the bilateral meeting between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Australian counterpart Malcolm Turnbull on the sidelines of the 10th edition of G-20 Summit at Antalya in Turkey. With the completion of procedures, including the administrative arrangements, India-Australia civil nuclear agreement will enter into force and India will be the first country to buy Australian uranium without being a signatory to the Nuclear Non-proliferation Treaty.
भारत एवं ऑस्ट्रेलिया ने दोनों देशों के मध्य असैन्य परमाणु संधि को लागू करने हेतु औपचारिकताएं पूरी किये जाने की घोषणा की। इस संधि पर प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी एवं ऑस्ट्रेलिया के प्रधानमंत्री मैल्कम टर्नबुल द्वारा अंताल्या, तुर्की में आयोजित जी-20 के 10वें शिखर सम्मेलन के दौरान हस्ताक्षर किये गये। प्रशासनिक व्यवस्था सहित अन्य प्रक्रियाओं के पूरा होने पर भारत-ऑस्ट्रेलिया असैन्य परमाणु संधि को लागू किया जा सकेगा। भारत ऐसा पहला देश होगा जो परमाणु अप्रसार संधि पर हस्ताक्षर के बिना ऑस्ट्रेलिया से यूरेनियम खरीदेगा।
3. Saeed Jaffrey, veteran star of Bollywood and British cinema passed away. He was 86 years old. He acted in many famous films like ‘Gandhi’, ‘Shatranj Ke Khiladi’, ‘Chashme Baddoor’, ‘A Passage to India’ and ‘The Chess Player’.
बॉलीवुड और ब्रिटिश सिनेमा के दिग्गज स्टार अभिनेता सईद जाफरी का निधन हो गया। वह 86 वर्ष के थे। उन्होंने ‘गांधी’, ‘शतरंज के खिलाड़ी’, ‘चश्मे बद्दूर’, ‘मासूम’, ‘ए पैसेज टू इंडिया’ और ‘द चेस प्लेयर’ जैसी कई प्रसिद्ध फिल्मों में काम किया है।
4. Taking another step towards realization of Digital India dreams, Jharkhand introduced ‘Mobile Governance’ in the state. Chief Minister Raghubar Das launched 15 mobile applications to mark the 16th Foundation Day of the state. Approximately 2/3rd of the population in Jharkhand are mobile users and it could be a strong medium to disseminate information about government services and welfare schemes and rein in corruption as well.
झारखंड सरकार ने राज्य में डिजिटल इंडिया मिशन का स्वप्न साकार करने के लिए मोबाइल गवर्नेंस की शुरूआत की है। मुख्यमंत्री रघुबर दास ने राज्य के सोलहवें स्थापना दिवस पर पन्द्रह मोबाइल ऐप जारी किये। झारखंड की दो-तिहाई जनता मोबाइल का इस्तेमाल करती है और सरकारी सेवाओं तथा कल्याणकारी योजनाओं के बारे में जानकारी देने और भ्रष्टाचार से निपटने में मोबाइल एक सशक्त माध्यम बन सकता है।
5. Kamala Laxman, a noted writer of children’s books and wife of iconic cartoonist R.K. Laxman, passed away. She was 88. In the 1970s she penned the Thama stories and tales of Tenali Raman.
बच्चों की पुस्तकों की प्रख्यात लेखिका और प्रतिष्ठित कार्टूनिस्ट आर.के. लक्ष्मण की पत्नी कमला लक्ष्मण का निधन हो गया। वह 88 वर्ष की थीं। उन्होंने 1970 के दशक में थामा कहानियां और तेनाली रमन के किस्से लिखे थे।
6. German Formula One Mercedes driver Nico Rosberg defeated British Formula One racer Lewis Hamilton to win the Brazilian Grand Prix. Sebastian Vettel grabbed the third position in the race.
जर्मन फार्मूला वन मर्सिडीज ड्राइवर निको रोसबर्ग ने ब्रिटिश फॉर्मूला वन रेसर लुईस हैमिल्टन को पराजित करके ब्राजील ग्रांड प्रिक्स जीता। सेबेस्टियन वेट्टल तीसरे स्थान पर रहे।
7. Comedian Kapil Sharma has been selected for Person of the Year Award by People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA), the animal rights organisation, for his dedication to promote compassion for homeless dogs as well as their adoption.
हास्य अभिनेता कपिल शर्मा को पशुओं के अधिकार से जुड़े संगठन पीपुल फॉर द एथिकल ट्रीटमेंट ऑफ एनिमल्स (पेटा) ने ‘पर्सन ऑफ दि ईयर’ सम्मान से सम्मानित करने के लिए चयनित किया है। कपिल को कुत्तों के प्रति प्रेम और उन्हें गोद लेने की जागरूकता बढ़ाने के प्रति उनके समर्पण के लिए इस सम्मान से सम्मानित किया जाएगा।
8. Indian Badminton ace Saina Nehwal lost to Chinese player Li Xuerui in women’s singles finals of China Open Super Series. Whereas, former world number one Malaysia’s Lee Chong Wei won the men’s singles finals of China Open Super Series for the first time by defeating Chen Long of China.
भारतीय बैडमिंटन खिलाड़ी साइना नेहवाल चाइना ओपन सुपर सीरीज़ के महिला एकल फाइनल में चीनी खिलाड़ी ली शुरेई से पराजित हो गयीं। जबकि, दुनिया के पूर्व नंबर एक खिलाड़ी मलेशिया के ली चोंग वेई ने चीन के चेन लोंग को हराकर पहली बार चीन ओपन सुपर सीरीज का पुरुष एकल फाइनल जीता।
9. “Mareech”, the Advanced Torpedo Defence System developed by the DRDO was handed over to the Indian Navy by Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar. ‘Mareech’ is a state-of-the-art indigenous system for torpedo detection and countermeasures. It has been jointly developed by DRDO’s Naval Physical and Oceanographic Laboratory (NPOL), Kochi and Naval Science and Technological Laboratory (NSTL), Visakhapatnam.
डीआरडीओ द्वारा विकसित उन्नत किस्म की टॉरपीडो सुरक्षा प्रणाली “मारीच”को रक्षा मंत्री मनोहर पर्रिकर ने भारतीय नौसेना को सौंप दिया। “मारीच” स्वदेशी तकनीक से निर्मित टॉरपीडो सुरक्षा प्रणाली है जिसके द्वारा टॉरपीडो का पता लगाकर जहाजों की इससे बचाने में भूमिका निभाई जायेगी। इसका विकास डीआरडीओ के तहत आने वाले नेवल साइंस एण्ड टैक्नोलॉजिकल लैबोरेटरीज़ (एनएसटीएल), विशाखापट्टनम और नेवल फिज़िकल एण्ड ओशनोग्राफिक लैबोरेट्री (एनपीओएल), कोच्चि द्वारा संयुक्त रूप से किया गया है।
10. With the aim to reduce the expenditure incurred by patients on treatment of cancer and heart diseases, the Union Minister for Health & Family Welfare, J.P. Nadda inaugurated the Affordable Medicines and Reliable Implants for Treatment (AMRIT) outlet at AIIMs, New Delhi. The retail outlet will sell drugs for the two ailments at highly discounted rates at AIIMS to begin with. It is country’s first retail facility to sell drugs for cancer and cardiovascular diseases at highly discounted rates.
कैंसर और हृदय रोगों के इलाज पर रोगियों द्वारा किए गए व्यय को कम करने के उद्देश्य के साथ केंद्रीय स्वास्थ्य एवं परिवार कल्याण मंत्री जे.पी. नड्डा ने एम्स, नई दिल्ली में अफोर्डेबल मेडिसिन एंड रिलायबल इम्प्लांट्स फॉर ट्रीटमेंट (अमृत) आउटलेट का शुभारंभ किया। शुरूवात में एम्स में यह आउटलेट इन दोनों बीमारियों के लिए अत्यधिक रियायती दरों पर दवाओं को बेचेगा। यह अत्यधिक सस्ती दरों पर कैंसर और हृदय रोगों के लिए दवाओं को बेचने वाली देश की पहली खुदरा सुविधा है।
