1. India has moved up one position to become the world’s seventh most valued ‘nation brand’, with an increase of 32 per cent in its brand value to USD 2.1 billion. The US remains on the top with a valuation of USD 19.7 billion, followed by China and Germany at the second and the third positions respectively, as per the annual report on world’s most valuable nation brands compiled by Brand Finance.
दुनिया के सर्वाधिक मूल्यवान ‘ राष्ट्र ब्रांड’ वाले देशों की सूची में भारत एक स्थान ऊपर उठते हुए सातवें स्थान पर पहुंच गया। इस सूची में भारत के ब्रांड वैल्यू में सर्वाधिक 2.1 अरब डॉलर अर्थात 32 फीसदी की वृद्धि हुई है। वैश्विक कंपनी ‘ब्रांड फाइनेंस’ द्वारा तैयार किए गए दुनिया के सर्वाधिक मूल्यावान ‘ब्रांड’ वाले देशों पर वार्षिक रिपोर्ट के अनुसार 19.7 अरब डॉलर मूल्य के साथ अमेरिका शीर्ष पर बरकरार है। चीन दूसरे और जर्मनी तीसरे स्थान पर हैं।
2. Sania Mirza and Martina Hingis won Singapore BNP Paribas WTA women’s doubles title. The top-seeded Indo-Swiss pair defeated eighth seed Spanish team of Garbine Muguruza and Carla Suarez Navarro. With this win Mirza and Hingis lifted their ninth trophy of the season.
सानिया मिर्जा और मार्टिना हिंगिस ने सिंगापुर बीएनपी पारिबास डब्ल्यूटीए फाइनल में महिला युगल खिताब जीता। शीर्ष वरीयता प्राप्त इंडो-स्विस जोड़ी ने गार्बाइन मुरूगुजा और कार्ला सुआरेज नवारो की आठवीं वरीयता प्राप्त स्पेनिश जोड़ी को पराजित किया। इस जीत के साथ मिर्जा और हिंगिस ने सत्र की अपनी नौवीं ट्राफी जीत ली।
3. Supersonic cruise missile BrahMos, with a strike-range of over 290 kms, was test-fired from the navy’s newest stealth destroyer INS Kochi successfully hitting a decommissioned target ship in the Arabian Sea.
सुपरसोनिक क्रूज मिसाइल ब्रह्मोस का नौसेना के सबसे नए स्टील्थ विनाशक जहाज आईएनएस कोच्चि से सफलतापूर्वक परीक्षण किया गया। अरब सागर में सेवामुक्त किया जा चुका एक जहाज इसका लक्ष्य था, जिसे इसने सफलतापूर्वक भेद दिया। यह मिसाइल 290 किलोमीटर की दूरी तक मार करने में सक्षम है।
4. Senior diplomat Navtej Sarna has been appointed India’s new High Commissioner to the UK. 1980 batch IFS officer Sarna is currently serving as secretary (west) in the ministry. Navtej Sarna will succeed Ranjan Mathai.
वरिष्ठ राजनयिक नवतेज सरना को ब्रिटेन में भारत का नया उच्चायुक्त नियुक्त किया गया है। वर्ष 1980 बैच के आईएफएस अधिकारी सरना वर्तमान में विदेश मंत्रालय में सचिव (पश्चिम) हैं। नवतेज सिंह रंजन मथाई का स्थान लेंगे।
5. Indian Railway launched a new pilot scheme ‘Vikalp’ under which waitlisted passengers can get confirmed accommodation in next alternative train if they opt for the option while booking their tickets online. It has initially been launched on a pilot basis on two sectors – Delhi-Lucknow and Delhi-Jammu.
भारतीय रेल ने वेटिंग लिस्ट में शामिल अपने यात्रियों को कन्फर्म स्थान दिलाने से सम्बन्धित “विकल्प” नामक एक नई पायलट परियोजना शुरू की है। इसमें यात्रियों को किसी दूसरी रेलगाड़ी में कन्फर्म रिज़र्वेशन उपलब्ध कराने की कोशिश की जायेगी यदि यात्री अपना ऑनलाइन रिज़र्वेशन कराते समय सम्बन्धित विकल्प भरेंगे। इसे प्रारंभ में दो रेल सेक्टरों में शुरू किया गया है – दिल्ली-लखनऊ और दिल्ली-जम्मू।
6. Nico Rosberg (Germany) won the Mexican F1 Grand Prix, the event which made its comeback to F1 circuit after 23 years. He defeated Mercedes team-mate Lewis Hamilton (Britain).
23 सालों के बाद फार्मूला वन सर्किट पर वापसी करने वाली मैक्सिकन फार्मूला वन ग्रां प्री का खिताब निको रोसबर्ग (जर्मनी) ने जीता। उन्होंने अपनी ही टीम के ब्रिटिश ड्राइवर लुइस हैमिल्टन को पराजित किया।
7. Air Marshal Virender Mohan Khanna took over as the Air Officer-in-charge Maintenance (AOM) of Indian Air Force at Air Headquarters, New Delhi.
एयर मार्शल वीरेंद्र मोहन खन्ना ने नई दिल्ली स्थित वायु सेना मुख्यालय में भारतीय वायु सेना के एयर ऑफिसर-इन-चार्ज, रख-रखाव (एओएम) का पदभार ग्रहण किया।
8. New Zealand won the 2015 Rugby World Cup for the third time. In the final played at Twickenham Stadium in London, the New Zealanders defeated Australia 34-17.
इंग्लैंड के ट्विकएनहम में आयोजित वर्ष 2015 के रग्बी विश्व कप फाइनल में न्यूजीलैंड ने आस्ट्रेलिया को हरा कर तीसरी बार विश्व कप जीत लिया।
9. Iran has appointed its first female ambassador since the 1979 Islamic revolution. This historical feat is achieved after 36 years. Marziyeh Afkham, the foreign ministry spokeswoman was appointed as the Islamic Republic’s ambassador to Malaysia.
ईरान ने 1979 की इस्लामी क्रांति के बाद अपनी पहली महिला राजदूत को नियुक्त किया है। यह ऐतिहासिक उपलब्धि 36 साल के बाद हासिल की गई है। विदेश मंत्रालय की प्रवक्ता मरजीह एफखाम को मलेशिया में इस्लामी गणराज्य के राजदूत के रूप में नियुक्त किया गया।
10. Union Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) constituted a drafting committee to frame the New Education Policy (NEP). It will be headed by former Cabinet Secretary T.S.R. Subramanian and will have four members.
