National Affairs The Ministry of Urban Development announced 13 new cities to be developed under the government’s Smart-Cities project .These cities were shortlisted based on scores obtained in Fast Track competition conducted for 23 cities from as many States and Union Territories.
The cities include Lucknow, NewTown in Kolkata, Bhagalpur, Dharamsala, Chandigarh, Faridabad, Raipur, Ranchi, Warangal, Agartala, Imphal, PortBlair and Panaji. Further, the cities have proposed projects involving a total investment of 30,229 crore.
