1)Abject (noun) ( अधम, घृणित): ab-ject
Meaning – (of something bad) experienced or present to the maximum degree , cast down in spirit or hope
Synonyms –  wretched, miserable, hopeless, pathetic, pitiful
Antonyms – proud, happy, exalted
Example – The football player was abject after the false allegation of match-fixing on him and being cut from the team.

2)Formidable (noun) ( दुर्जेय, विकट):  fawr-mi-duh-bull
Meaning – something that inspires fear, inspiring fear or respect through being impressively large, powerful, intense, or capable.
Synonyms –  intimidating, forbidding, redoubtable, daunting
Antonyms –  pleasant-looking, comforting, easy, weak
Example – Walking across a four-lane highway with my eyes closed is a formidable challenge!

3)Killjoy (noun) ( आन्नद में विघ्न डालने वाला): kil-joi
Meaning – a person who deliberately spoils the enjoyment of others.
Synonyms -:  naysayer, moaner, complainer, mope, Cassandra
Example – His perpetually negative attitude made him a real killjoy when others were trying to have fun.

4)Vandalism (noun) ( बर्बरता): van-dl-iz-um
Meaning – action involving deliberate destruction of or damage to public or private property
Synonyms -:  destruction, hooliganism, devastation
Antonyms –  safeguarding, support
Example – The youths were charged withvandalism for beating the new student in the hostel.

5)Backhanded (noun) (व्यंग भरी):  bak-han-did
Meaning – having a meaning that is expressed indirectly or ambiguously.

7)Spawn (noun) ( जन्म देना): spawn
Meaning – to generate or produce
Synonyms -:  give rise to, bring about, originate
Antonyms –  kill , destroy , stop
Example – Big earthquakes tend to spawn smaller aftershocks that continue to rock the area for several hours or days.

8)Unnerve (noun) ( अशक्त करना): un-nurv
Meaning – to make someone lose confidence; to discourage
Synonyms -:  demoralize, discourage, dishearten, dispirit
Antonyms –  : encourage, hearten
Example – In an effort to unnerve his foe, the politician brought up some of the less honourable things he had done in the past during their debate.

9)Writ (noun) ( रिट): rit
Meaning – a form of written command in the name of a court or other legal authority to act, or abstain from acting, in a particular way/the power to enforce submission and compliance
Synonyms -:  summons, subpoena, warrant, arraignment, indictment
Example – Enforcing justice is something beyond the writ of the average citizen, which is why they are not allowed to take the law into their own hands.
