1. Nepal’s Parliament elected Bidhya Devi Bhandari (Communist Party of Nepal) as country’s new President after she received 327 votes against 214 votes of the leader of Nepali Congress Kul Bahadur Gurung in Presidential elections held in the Parliament. She thus became country’s first-ever woman President. She has succeeded Ram Baran Yadav.
नेपाल की संसद में हुए राष्ट्रपति चुनाव में बिद्या देवी भण्डारी (कम्यूनिस्ट पार्टी ऑफ नेपाल) ने 327 मत हासिल कर 214 मत हासिल करने वाले नेपाली कांग्रेस के नेता कुल बहादुर गुरुंग को पराजित कर देश की पहली महिला राष्ट्रपति बनीं। उन्होंने राम बरन यादव का स्थान लिया है।
2. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is the 10th most admired personality globally, as per a new survey by the World Economic Forum (WEF) that has ranked late South African President Nelson Mandela on the top. Mahatma Gandhi is ranked fourth most admired leader, according to a survey of more than 1,000 millennials. The WEF’s Global Shapers Annual Survey 2015 found that Pope Francis is the second most admired leader.
विश्व आर्थिक मंच (डब्ल्यूईएफ) के एक नए सर्वेक्षण के अनुसार प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी दुनियाभर में सबसे अधिक प्रशंसा पाने वाली 10वीं हस्ती बन गए हैं। इस सर्वेक्षण में दक्षिण अफ्रीका के दिवंगत राष्ट्रपति नेल्सन मंडेला को सूची में पहले स्थान पर रखा गया है। महात्मा गांधी इस सूची में चौथे स्थान पर हैं। डब्ल्यूईएफ के ग्लोबल शेपर्स एन्युअल सर्वे 2015 में दूसरे स्थान पर पोप फ्रांसिस आए।
3. Government appointed senior Indian Revenue Service (IRS) officer Najib Shah as Chairman of Central Board of Excise and Customs (CBEC), apex body on Indirect Taxes. Shah is a 1979 batch officer of Indian Revenue Service (Customs and Central Excise).
सरकार ने भारतीय राजस्व सेवा (आईआरएस) के वरिष्ठ अधिकारी नजीब शाह को अप्रत्यक्ष करों पर शीर्ष निकाय केंद्रीय उत्पाद एवं सीमा शुल्क बोर्ड (सीबीईसी) का अध्यक्ष नियुक्त किया है। नजीब शाह भारतीय राजस्व सेवा (केन्द्रीय उत्पाद शुल्क और सीमा शुल्क) के 1979 बैच के अधिकारी हैं।
4. Senior IAS officer Aruna Sundarajan was appointed as Secretary in Ministry of Steel as part of a top-level bureaucratic reshuffle effected by the government. Vijay Shankar Pandey will be new Secretary in Department of Chemicals and Fertilisers.
भारतीय प्रशासनिक सेवा की वरिष्ठ अधिकारी अरुणा सुंदरराजन को इस्पात सचिव नियुक्त किया गया है। सरकार द्वारा नौकरशाही में की गई शीर्ष स्तरीय फेर-बदल के तहत यह नियुक्ति की गई है। इसके अलावा विजय शंकर पांडेय को रसायन एवं उर्वरक विभाग का नया सचिव नियुक्त किया है।
5. Yes Bank claimed that it has become the first bank to set up its IFSC banking operations at the highly-ambitious Gujarat International Finance Tec City (GIFT City). It also claimed that it is the first bank to start operations in GIFT City by setting up an IBU (IFSC Banking Unit).
यस बैंक ने दावा किया कि वह गुजरात इंटरनेशनल फाइनेंस टेक सिटी (गिफ्ट-सिटी) में आईएफएससी बैंकिंग परिचालन स्थापित करने वाला पहला बैंक बन गया है। साथ ही उसने दावा किया कि वह गिफ्ट-सिटी में अंतर्राष्ट्रीय वित्तीय सेवाओं से सम्बन्धित बैंकिंग इकाई (आईएफएससी बैंकिंग युनिट) शुरू करने वाले पहला बैंक है।
6. The Madhya Pradesh Government decided to provide 33 percent reservation to women in government jobs in the state. With the decision, the reservation for women in government jobs in the state increased from the present 30 percent to 33 percent.
मध्य प्रदेश सरकार ने राज्य में सरकारी नौकरियों में महिलाओं को 33 प्रतिशत कोटा प्रदान करने का निर्णय लिया है। इस निर्णय से राज्य में सरकारी नौकरियों में महिलाओं के लिए कोटा वर्तमान 30 प्रतिशत से बढ़कर 33 प्रतिशत हो गया है।
7. Indian Navy and Sri Lankan Navy began the 4th edition of Sri Lanka-India Exercise ‘SLINEX 2015’ at Trincomalee, Sri Lanka. The exercise will go on till 1 November 15. SLINEX 15 is expected to enhance the capability of two navies to work together and contribute towards maritime security.
भारतीय नौसेना और श्रीलंकाई नौसेना ने श्रीलंका के त्रिंकोमाली तट पर चौथा श्रीलंका-भारत नौसैनिक अभ्यास ‘एसएलआईएनईएक्स-2015’ शुरू किया है। यह अभ्यास 1 नवंबर 2015 को संपन्न होगा। एसएलआईएनईएक्स 2015 से समुद्र में दोनों सेनाओं द्वारा मिलकर कार्य करने की क्षमता बढ़ेगी, जो इस क्षेत्र में समुद्री सुरक्षा की दिशा में योगदान होगा।
8. India overtakes China as the biggest overall consumer of gold in the first nine months of this year with a total consumption of 642 tonnes, according to a report published by Thomson Reuters. China is trailing by just 63 tonnes at total consumption of 579 tonnes in the first nine months of the year.
‘थॉमसन रॉयटर्स’ द्वारा प्रकाशित रिपोर्ट के अनुसार भारत ने इस वर्ष के पहले नौ महीनों में सोने की खपत के मामले में चीन को पीछे छोड़ दिया है। इस दौरान भारत में सोने की कुल खपत 642 टन रही, वहीं चीन की खपत 579 टन रही। इस लिहाज से वह खपत के मामले में भारत से 63 टन पीछे रहा।
9. India and France signed a Memorandum of Understanding to conserve, develop and publicize written heritage at the National Library in Kolkata.
भारत और फ्रांस ने कोलकाता में राष्ट्रीय पुस्तकालय में विरासत अभिलेखों के संरक्षण, विकास और प्रचार के लिए एक समझौता ज्ञापन पर हस्ताक्षर किए।
10. One of Britain’s most well-known Indian-origin famous businessman of Indian cuisine Lord Gulam Noon passed away in London. He was 79. Known as the Curry King, Noon founded the Noon Products business.
ब्रिटेन के सबसे जाने-माने भारतीय मूल के भारतीय व्यंजनों के प्रसिद्ध व्यवसायी भारतीय मूल के लॉर्ड गुलाम नून का लंदन में निधन हो गया। ‘करी किंग’ के नाम से मशहूर नून 79 वर्ष के थे। नून ने नून प्रोडक्ट्स की स्थापना की थी।
11. India is among the top 10 nations in terms of total private wealth held, but at the bottom in terms of per capita riches. According to the report by New World Wealth, India’s total individual wealth stood at $3,492 billion, while the United States, which topped the list, had a total individual wealth of $48,734 billion. Total individual wealth refers to the private wealth held by all the individuals in each country.
लोगों के पास कुल निजी संपत्ति के मामले में भारत दुनिया के शीर्ष दस देशों में शामिल है। लेकिन, प्रति व्यक्ति औसत संपत्ति के मामले में यह शीर्ष 20 देशों में सबसे निचले स्तर पर है। न्यू वर्ल्ड हेल्थ की एक रिपोर्ट के अनुसार देश में लोगों की निजी संपत्ति 3,492 अरब डॉलर (करीब 2265 खरब रुपये) है। वहीं, इस सूची में शीर्ष पर रहने वाले अमेरिका में निजी संपत्ति का आंकड़ा 48,734 अरब डॉलर (करीब 31623 खरब रुपये) है। व्यक्तियों की निजी संपत्ति से तात्पर्य प्रत्येक देश में सभी लोगों के पास मौजूद निजी संपत्ति से है।
